Geoff De Muer Fractional CTO in Ghent

Together we build the machine behind your promise. For startups, scale-ups and SMEs: I think along on brand, product and tech, then build it until it runs.

What I do

Brand & machine

A brand is a promise to customers, the company is the machine that keeps it. I help figure out what that machine needs next and build along, whether it is already running or still an idea: the flows from first contact to invoice, product, software and hardware where needed, built to make money, not swallow you whole, and get better with every customer.

Fractional CTO

Senior tech leadership for startups and scale-ups that don't need a full-time hire yet. Architecture, hiring, roadmap, the hard calls. Also as a sounding board for founders and tech leads, for a team stuck on process rather than technology, or for an honest look at what you built yourself with AI. Need more hands than mine? I bring in people I have actually built with.

Founder-partner

For founders who are actually building. From idea to first paying customers: what comes first, what comes later, what never comes at all. Pricing, focus, and sitting in on the pitch with investors or with that one big customer. For the right venture I join as co-founder from day zero, like at nanopixo. I have started a few myself: one sold, one wound down, one running today.

Agent-ready

ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity increasingly decide which company gets recommended, and they do not read your website the way people do. I make your company findable and usable for AI agents: an llms.txt, clean structured data, correct listings everywhere agents look, and where it pays off an MCP server, so an assistant can actually query your offer, prices or availability. nanopixo already runs on one.

Promise, machine, margin

A brand is a story, a promise to customers. The company is the machine that keeps that promise every single day: software, sometimes hardware, always people and process. That whole is why you started as an entrepreneur in the first place. I see it the way you do: where every piece fits, however small, and how it carries its part of the machine.

customer PromiseMachineMargin
  1. Promise

The brand, the story, what a customer expects before they buy anything. It holds everything together, and it is the bar everything else gets measured against.

  2. Machine

The company itself. Everything that keeps the promise, as well for the hundredth customer as for the first: product, software, hardware, process, team.

  3. Margin

The machine has to bring in revenue and profit, and run efficiently enough that the founders don't drown in the work it creates.

  4. The loop

How customers use the product flows back into the machine and makes it better. Every customer makes the company stronger instead of heavier.

Track record

nanopixo

Co-founder · since 2026

The promise to real estate agents: one URL in, ready-to-publish, on-brand promo videos out, in any language. The machine: an AI pipeline plugged straight into Whise and Zabun, with its own MCP server. Paying customers across Europe, the US and Canada, and every video they make tunes the pipeline. Building the brand, the product and the business.

Lobbi PMS → RoomRaccoon

CTO · 2020–2026 (exit)

The promise to independent hotels: a property management system you can run your whole day on. The machine: product, architecture, infra and the team I built behind it. 300+ hotels in production, and what they ran into every day set the roadmap. The leading independent PMS in the Benelux, acquired by RoomRaccoon in 2026. I led the technical transition.

Stroom

Shareholder · since 2024

Independent craft brewery in Ghent, and the loop in its purest form: a brand in a glass, kettles and kegs as the machine, and a margin earned again with every batch. I back things I believe in. Soigneur (NA), Mondello and Dirty Boots are excellent reasons to keep showing up.

Before that: 16+ years through Mediavan as CTO, founder and freelance dev. Long-term gigs at ArcelorMittal, Nationale Loterij, Telenet, Newtec and TBWA. AdBannerKing (founder, 2013–2016). Started shipping interactive things in 2005.

How I work

I listen first, then tell you what I actually think, in plain language, even when the answer is technical. People keep telling me it's a rare combo: a dev who can actually speak. I'll take it.

AI is rewriting how teams ship. I help companies figure out where it helps, where it bites, and what's worth building. No buzzword salad, no slide decks pretending to be strategy. I'm shipping AI myself at nanopixo, so the answers are concrete.

Code when code is the answer. None when it isn't. Direct in writing, direct in person.
